A Child Who Fears Failure vs. A Child Who Tries Again
When teaching young children, we often see two very different reactions. Some children collapse the moment they receive a small correction. Tears fall, and they can no longer focus on the lesson. On the other hand, there are children who look at a mistake and say, “I want to try again!”—turning the mistake into a spark of motivation.
The difference comes from one key factor: Resilience.A child with resilience does not end a mistake as a negative experience. Instead, they use it as a stepping stone to try again. A child lacking resilience, however, takes failure as “I am wrong” and quickly gives up.
What we must teach our children is not perfection, but the strength to rise again after they stumble.
