At Horizon, Louis has never been “just a dog.”He has been our quiet mascot, our hallway friend, our soft little cloud of comfort. The kids adore him. The teachers adore him.And honestly… we all smile a little bigger whenever he trots by with that goofy, happy face.

“Nom Nom Slurp Slurp” is a poem born from those moments. It captures the way Louis eats — loudly, joyfully, with his whole heart. The sniffs, the wiggles, the little tail dances…It’s the kind of pure happiness that only a dog can teach us.

We wanted to share this poem because it reminds us of something simple but important:Joy doesn’t have to be big. Sometimes it’s just a bowl of warm food and someone you love nearby.

The kids know this. Louis knows this. And when we read this poem together, we all get to feel a tiny spark of that same warmth.

So this poem is for Louis, for the children who love him,and for the small, everyday happiness that fills our school.

Paw!!! Paw paw!!!What a perfect day. 🐾💛
